Started playing poker in the pub leagues after hanging up the football boots. Played football from the age of 21 of a local team, moved onto player manager for the last 5 years but passed the baton on once hit 33yrs old and the legs were letting me down. In the same pub that we were based at the landlord suggested I played in a new pub poker league they had just started, LPPL, so I did. Soon picked up the bug and started the study. Resulting in 5 Lincolnshire final wins and trips all across the globe. (Paris, Dublin, Prague, Amsterdam to name a few) – This set me up to play bigger events. The best of which was the WSOP, where I managed to FT a bracelet event, my entry was born from the free pub league. Shortly after, winning the APAT Welsh title. 2014 and 2015 being my highlight years up to the point of writing. The “Goliath” also remains a favourite after a 22nd place finish in my first attempt from close to 7000 runners.
Online I have had reasonable success, even have my own twitch stream setup that I like to turn on when things are going well. I never perfected this though, talking while playing is way harder than people make it look! Username here is also Kanovar.

2015 also saw the birth of my second child, so poker took a back seat for a little while. Playing when time and family allows – 2 children way more demanding than just the 1!
My other main Hobby is running, so don’t be surprised to see me up early doing a park run in the area I am pokering at. No marathons under my belt yet, but I have York booked for 2020
