So the week didn’t get off to a good start, busting everything early and generally just running bad (with some questionable play from myself aswell)

I then decided to jump into the main and that didn’t go any better either. Losing half my stack in the first level after having to pass QQ on a 872 board!!!

However, Friday would see the end of the run bad and a change of luck.
Started the day nice and early in the survivor shootout and picked up a few early pots so was never in danger of being eliminated at the end of any level.
Then came the crucial hand, it folds to the button who would be eliminated in 7mins if he didn’t start picking up chips. Knowing this, I decide to flat from the SB with KK after he had made it just over 3x.
Flop comes QQ7, I check and he ships the lot in. We call and he shows 22 and is on his way. Kept the chip lead then till final 3 until finally the short stack shoves, I wake up with 88 and call. He shows KJ.
All good… until the flop off QJJ comes. However manage to grind it through to the final table. Where we all go back with 10k and blinds back to 25/50
We lost 2 early on the FT so there was going to be no end of level elimination for a while, so decide I can loosen up a bit… just then I wake up with AA I raise 1k UTG and get 4 callers. Flop comes Q 10 4, and I just ship my remaining 11k. Get snapped off very quickly by Q,10.  Turn is a 5, river a 4. I double and live another day.
Just after it was my turn to crush AA. I open with K10ss and the BB flats her aces.
A flop of 3 10 K, goes check check.
A 5 on the turn and I decide to bet pot, to hear her announce all in. I make the call and the river bricks.
I made heads up with 18k compared to the 62k that Dory had. I manage to double but it still wasn’t enough for the win, ended up finished 2nd for a first APAT medal.

An hour after the survivor shootout, the Fusion started, so I thought I’d try my luck in that, after having a bit of run good. I’d never played the game before but I don’t think I was the only one!!
The game isn’t the easiest to blog, as you starts with 2 cards, get another after the flop, and one more after the turn. You’re then playing PLO on the river.
However I must have been doing something right as I found myself heads up for the second time in the day. This time with a 330k stack against 120k.
After flopping a set and losing to a straight. Then drawing to the nuts and it bricking I was soon down to 60k.
Not long after I double, rivering quads and getting paid – easy game!
After a bit of grinding, we get it all in pre my AKss against his A8hh.
After a K high flop and a K on the turn and him having no help from the cards he received was enough to see me take it down and win the gold and a WCOAP bracelet.

I did make one other final table in the ROE, but after going to the table 2nd in chips only managed a 5th place and a small cash.

All in all a great week and already looking forward to the WCOAP next year.
