Redtooth Regionals Luton 09/06/18

The last time i played in the Redtooth Regional finals over Luton i came second so this time around i was looking to go one better and secure myself a free trip to Vegas! The day started well, we managed to get the last spot in the car park which was a right result! Play started at 12noon, Lisa Greer and Ben Greer were also playing in the 182player field. I made it to first break with 22k which was double the average – Nice! People where dropping like flies in the next session of play but it was tough going (losing with QQ twice), however we made the break with 20k, the average was at 37k and 39players left. I came back to the third session of play with a plan to pick my spots well and ship it with any two! The first hand i doubled on the BB with A5 and then I doubled again with 10s, so I now have a healthy stack. They then broke the tables down to 2 and announce that the top 14 get a national final seat which was one of the goals at the start of the day. Very quickly after i made the final 14 and got myself a national seat which i was happy with. The blinds where starting to increase, I have 13 bigs and look down at AA in the small blind, everyone folds round to me and I ship it into the big stack. big blind superstar! He ponders for about 20mins before calling off with Qd9d. The flop comes 2d, 3d, Qs, turn 5s and the river is………..8d, bye bye Danny in 13th 🙁 I was happy with my overall play and it was a very enjoyable day out.
